Country of Project: BELIZE The Government of Belize through the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation and Culture (MTCAC) has received financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), toward the cost of the Belize Sustainable Tourism Program and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the Contract for Placencia Municipal Pier and Plaza Project #CCS001. The construction of the Municipal Pier & Plaza in Placencia Village, Belize encompasses the installation of storm water drainage pipe work, services and ancillaries, pavement construction and the construction of several commercial buildings with associated services. Awarded Bidder: Maheias United Concrete and Supplies Limited presented the lowest evaluated cost of BZ$3,095,124.00; however this cost exceeded the reference budget of BZ$2,500,000. The IDB provided it’s non-objection to proceed with negotiations with the bidder which resulted in a negotiated bid price of BZ$2,551,449.83. The bid received was responsive to the ToR and met all qualifying criteria; the STP team has selected Maheias United Concrete and Supplies Limited as the winning firm for the Construction of the Placencia Municipal Pier and Plaza. Country of Awarded Bidder: BELIZE Contract Amount: 2 million, five hundred and fifty one thousand, four hundred and forty nine Belize dollars and eighty three cents. Duration of contract: The construction period is 12 months ending February 2013
